Dinosaurs Eat Everybody Records!

So I've sort of officially/unofficially started Dinosaurs Eat Everybody Records. Yes its named after Dave's website or whatever website development company he has. I don't really know what he's doing, but anyway yeah. I've been talking to Jim and Anthony a lot about it (owners of Minty Fresh Records). So they've been kind of helping me get started, but I think what we are going to do is start with a compilation of unsigned bands in chicago. And I've been thinking about doing a showcase/benefit show for Invisible Children. And call it like "Chicago Comes to Uganda" or something I don't know I'd like something more catchy or something, but I'd like to do it during the summer. I'd like to do it at the Metro. I've got the number for Invisible Children so I could easily get them to endorse it and probably promote it a bit and they suggested trying to get a venue to donate the use for the show. So if the metro doesn't want to donate a whole night, I'd like to charge at the door and have proceeds go to Uganda, but the Metro could take some of the door/ticket sales and probably be happy about that. Then i was thinking have the whole night recorded and have a cd that we sell for Invisible Children again proceeds going to Uganda. And then maybe have all the bands have the merch, but Invisible Children has merch to maybe get them to send a couple of boxes of stuff this way that we could sell at the show.

Anyway the whole point of it being "Dinosaurs Eat Everybody and Invisible Children Presents Chicago Underground Comes to Uganda" or whatever and have that promote the label using the Invisble Children because somehow this organization has assimilated into the "scene." Anyway these are all ideas i had while not being able to sleep last night like every freaking night.

I'm sure there are more to come, but Press Release.
